Default Idle

I had an idle problem goin there for a while... I would get this throbbing and stuff comming from the truck.... As i drove it more and more the throb subsided. Than i killed the battery and jumpstarted it and there the problem was again. So i figured while i got the hood up i might as well clean the terminals and sutff.... well after i cleaned the termals and hooked it back up she ran smoother than a babies bottom. Idk what tie it has with idle speed but ill tell ya what ither its one hellova coincedince or it had somehting to do with a poor connection.... You be the judge

Definitely a poor connection.

Man I think that is just strange. But I know that fluxions in the voltage system can lead to major multi problems, but I still don't see the connection.

Question: (Than i killed the battery)

What did you do and how did you do it?

I left the interior lights on over night.... okay here is the full story. I bought the truck, it had an older batt. it also had this idle problem where it would throb a little bit (no big deal). I put a 1200w soundsystem in it. and while installing it i killed the battery about 4 times..after each time i jumped it the engine would run sooo ****ty it would stall out from how bad the idle fluxuations were. so i figured the batt. is old and i have a larger load on it now, i might as well replace it with a better one. So i did, and when i installed the new battery the idle fluxuations went completely away. Than i jumped the car and there was that damn idle problem again. Not soo bad that it would stall but none the less pretty bad. So, i noticed that the terminals were all gunked up again (i have a question about that) so i cleaned them off and started her up and she ran great. No problems since.

Ive noticed that my termials get all coroded after about a month or so. Everytime i clean them they just get dirty again. I bought battery terminal protectant and it did nothing the first time i used it. So the last time i did it i LOADED the stuff on the terminals and that was about a week or so ago. I dont know if theyre getting all crusty again but we will see. How can i stop that corrosion???

Dielectric (sp?) grease, or you can use axle grease. You do have to gob the stuff on, the corrosion is a chemical reaction with air.
