output speed sensor cuircuit code
Yesterday, pursuant to a "check engine" light I had the coderead at the local Advance Auto Parts. Theresult was code "P0720-Output speed sensor circuit".
Is this a common problem with these trucks?
Before I buya new sensor, how do I check it to make sure it is the sensor and not something else?
Also, is there a way to clear the codewithout replacing thesensor?
Thanks in advance!

Yes you can clear the code by useing the monitor from the parts store or unhooking the neg battery cable for aprox. 45 seconds and hooking it back up. I would asume that the sensor is bad and needs replaced. Go to the dealer and get a new one. There is no way to test the sensor that I know of.

Thanks for the advice gents. I got the sensor at Autozone for $27.00 (price must have gone up) the dealer was actually less at $25.00 but the parts dept. hours less convenient. I replaced the sensorand so far so good. One thing I didn't expect was the amount of fluid that poured out, about 2 quarts.
