for about the 15th time. Can a 98 Dakota tranny be used in my 98 durango? My truck is an automatic 4X4, 318 engine. Have found a Dakota with the same specs, will the trannys swap? if not where can I find a good used tranny? thanks!

 

as long as prod#s match Etched into the case on the left just above the pan also are they 42re 44re 46re or rh's ? if you're gonna get a used one i strongly reccomend redo oon the front drum & input & pump

 

Yes, a 44re is a 44re, a 46re is a 46 re. Just look at the pans, if they match and are both electronic it is no problem. 98 and early 99's had pump, input, converter problems.
