Default Tire Size

Hey, I just turned 16 and my dad bought me a 99 durango, slt 4x4 and I was just wondering what the largest sized tires I could put on without any rub, and without wheel well modifications.
Thanks,
Garrett

read up on ALL the tire posts you will find that info.. but my fav for buck and size is 31" BFG AT T/A KO's.. they are about the biggest you can buy without any mods.. but it depends on you rim size.. so check that .. I have 15inch rims and I have 31" BFG KO's and I love them..

BFG's are all I use on all my vehicles! I love them. All my previous trucks and my current D are riding on BFG's. My last 4WD, I had the 31inch all terrains on 15 inch rims. But not sure if they make 31's for 16 inches? Lookup BFG's website.

Their All Terrains are very quiet on asphalt roads and have a very good tread life ( if you do not consistently abuse them). I average around 55-60k tread life on my all terrains.

But with my R/T, I am riding on Comp T/A's. Sadly, they are now discontinued and BFG's no longer make a performance tire in the 275/60/17 size. I may have to go with Kumho(sp) tires as an alternative. Got some good opinions from users in this forum on this brand of tire.

garrett without changing your rim size 31x10.50-15 is the biggest you can go on a stock durango without
any problems.

also kensai in a 16" a 265/75/16 is equivilent to a 31x10.50-15..
