03 Durango Engine code?
My 2003 Durango is showing a PO440 engine code. Can anyone tell me what it means and if I'm going to have to take it to the dealer. The vehicle is running fine. I don't want the dealer to rip me a new one. Help!
First thing to do is go buy a new gas cap. There is an index of engine codes at the top of this section heres a link. https://dodgeforum.com/m_614377/tm.htm
If the gas cap doesn't work tighten up all of your connections on the fuel lines.

You're right Steve it wouldn't be the gas cap unless there is a huge crack in it or something [&:].Sorry for that advice. I would look at the fuel lines and I think the most common area to get the leak is in the filler neck going into the tank. Make sure it is all seal up well.
After checking the the gas filler hose, how do I reset the computer??
Thanks

You can disconnect the battery for 15 minutes which will reset the whole system, or you can pull the fuse to your ecm which will keep your clock/radio settings and reset your check engine code only.
