Default Driver side heated seat not working

Hi All,
I have an 01 R/T Durango and the driver side seat heater is not working. If I press theeither the Low or Hi settingon the console switch the LED for Hi blinks for a brief period of time then goes out. Any ideas what could cause this behavior?

Sounds like a bad relay if that is what your heated seas run through. It is probably become overloaded after a short period of time being on.

I have the same problem as stated with driver seat, swapped switch from passenger side, and that did nothing. Talked with dealer said it was a short in the heating element and VERY!! common. Haven't bothered throwing any more money at my money pit aka(durango).[:@]

Good mornning, I have bought the service manuals for my
Dodge 1500 Ram. You have an open in the system, probably
a broken heat element in the seat as I have tested mine and
have come to that conclusion. The flashing light only blinks on
the HIGH side, right? It is a self diagnostic tool they have
implemented. My manual does not tell whether the element is
in the seat cover or below it. I have leather seats so I am hoping
it is below the cover asi do not want to have to replace a
leather seat cover.

The heating element has nothing to do with the leather you can reuse your skin.
