Sounds like the shift-interlock system. I can hear a "click" from the shifter when I press the brake. Anyone know how to check this or better yet is there a manual release?

Try turning the wheel left and right while taking it out of park and do a search in here on this issue. I have just heard of this one other time pretty recently in the D's.
I read about that issue here recently too. I believe it was suggested that you get a buddy or two to rock your D side to side while you try to shift into reverse.
