2002 Durango somtimes hard to shift out if park
It doesn't matter if I am parked on a level surface,or a hill with the parking brake on.Every once in a while it has a hard time shifting out of park.Eventually it does shift into gear if I keep playing with the shift lever.Any ideas?
it might just be out of adjustment.
how much snow do you have there? I was hitting snow banks and drifts on the weekend and then I couldnt move the gearshifter. I found that there was soo much snow compacted in there that it wouldnt let it move.
but I doubt thats your problem.
I would just go down there and lube everything up.

deerang, thanks for the link.Pulled the rubber boot off shift lever, and saw the steel rod was not pulling back when key was turned on.Sprayed it with WD-40.Works as good as new again. The job took less than 5 mins.THANKS AGAIN!!
