Default To Rough

Ok so not too long back I did some work on my brothers Camaro (new rack and pinion install). Him being my brother I did it for free and lunch. I would think that brothers would help each other out and not screw them over. Well I thought wrong. Some of the money to fix it came out of my pocket and now he is unwilling to pay it back. His reasoning is because I took so long to fix it. 4 days of off and on he should be thankful that I did it without payment...It all goes back to being brothers. But so he's not paying me back my money so I've went ahead and made up a letter of notice of a lien. Its not the official lien yet, just to scare him. However if I have too I will file a lien on him. Do you all think its too rough him being my brother. But I feel I have no choose but to do it because of his constant attempts to screw me out of money and property.

What do you all think?

I say go for it, let a brother screw you once and he will think he can keep right on doing it over and over again. I speak from experience, I myself would of had my hand out to him for money as you were working on it, but see I've been screwed over too many times by friends and family. Do what you have to to feel right about this situation. Good luck.

I'd just whoop his *** and call it a day next time he wants help remind him he owes you money and you aren't gonna do anything until he pays you back. It doesn't matter if it took a month. free labor is free labor. If he would have done it by himself it may have taken him longer.

Yep thats the way I feel. He didn't even know were to begin in the project so I fell I did him a favor. Well he's screwed me over so many times I knew something like this was going to happen. But he was on the edge of selling it and I knew if he did he would regret it for the rest of his life like I regret selling mine so I was just looking out for him. But he has left me with no choice in the matter hopefully after this he'll think twice about stealing my money of trying to screw me over.

On your next day off just jack up the Camaro and unscrew the Tie rods and take them off the car and don't give them back until you get your money. He won't know what to do! Plus it will put a big smile on your face when your brother has no idea what to do next.

Yeh I was thinking about just completly removing the rack and pinion and setting infront of the car...He would be so confused plus he wouldnt know where to start to put it back in lol. Well unfortunalty I'll be living with him for a couple more months so if I did do that he would go after my car and I want to leave my D out of it.
