Default Fail inspection due to 2 Transmission codes??

Hello all

New to the forum and it looks good and has great info!

I have a question about my Durango 2001 4.7 it has the mercedes motor and tranny as im told. I have oh about 99,000 miles or so about 3 mnonths ago I had the tranny rebuilt and the only problem then after getting it back was I had boxes around all of the letters and numbers when i am in park or in nuetreul still making the time to get it in for them to fix......
About 2 days ago i went to have my truck inspected 2DTC's came up:
P0725 Engine Speed Input Circuit
P1781 Manufacturer Specific Code
Which needles to say would not pass my mech said they were Transmission codesso being under warranty for the tranny.......The Tranny guy tells me my mech is wrong they are not a transmission problem they are a false code when the puter sees there is about a 400rpm difference Wheels spining on ice or sand for a few seconds it sends this false code. My mech and a dealership tell me that 2 celinoids need to be replaced in the tranny ???????

Sorry a little long on words but needed to explain........

them to replace those sensors/solenoids then get a new radiator and a flush trust me on this one I've been there and done that. If you can turn a wrench get a good flush on the cooling system then replace the radiator yourself to save a couple bucks. The torque converter throws a bunch of crap into the cooling system and plugs up your radiator which will cause multiple sensor failures (I had over 10 go out on me easily) and on a long trip something will go break. Mine was the OD section overheaated... Take my word for it and you will save money in the long run.

I don't know about your code issues. However, nothing Mercedes about the motor and trans. Just the stock D powerplant. It was just updated with a newer 4.7L for the '08 Dakota. The other engine for the '01 D is the 5.9L which has been out since the 70's (360ci).

Default Need help too!!

My Durango is tripping out on me... It starts in the morning and after I let it sit for long periods of time. (like 1 or 2 hrs.) But if I just finish driving it like going to the grocery store or dropping off or picking something up as soon as I turn off the car it wont start.. The little square on the thing doesnt lite up on P or N. I don't know what to do.. I take it to the dealership and first they say something was sticking. It was fine for a week. Then it started to leave me stranded again.. When I took it again they said it was the starter.. A friend of mine said it wasn't the starter... HELP... I don't know what to do? What could it be?

I got it fixed.. Something was loose. It wasn't the starter.
