2000 Durango r/t
Hey Everyone-
First time poster here. I am looking to trade in my pickup on a 2000 Durango R/T with 58k miles. I need more cabin space since my truck is basically my rolling office, but I like being able to tow with my truck and throw stuff in the back. What should I look for when I go to check this truck out? How will it tow (87 Grand National)? I know the mileage is gonna suck, but how bad? Anything else I need to know? Thanks a lot for all of your help, maybe you'll be hearing more from me in the future!

The R/T is a good choice and I'm pretty sure they came standard with 3.93's which will do great with towing. You can pull 7500 lbs with it also the 5.9 is bulletproof. you won't get much better than 15 mpg highway but I actually just took a 1500+ mile road trip that I got back from yesterday and managed 17.5 mpg and I wasn't taking it too easy. The AWD will kill any chances you have of getting that gas mileage though. The only thing I can say is make sure the tranny is mechanically sound, that is the durango's achilles heel.
