Need advice on what to do next. Video clip inside.
So i got this car at a really great deal and i need to know 1 thing in particular.
There is a huge knock, here is a sample clip of motor idling, and a sample of the motor being revved, basically i wanna know if i can tear the top of this motor apart and fix this problem myself or should i look into getting a new used motor and just swap them.
If there is a chance this can be done myself i would rather go that route so i know whats going on with this motor and have confidence as opposed to getting a strange motor from the yard. This motor has 100k on it so i think i can get more life out of it.
Thanks for any and all comments or advice.
Here is a link to the video of my Dodge Intrepid Idling at first and then i rev it up a few times.

I'm sorry to tell you, but it sounds like a rod bearing. Could also be a collapsed piston skirt, but I'd bet on the rod bearing. Get another motor,as the crank in that one is probably junk from the spinning rod bearing. A trip to the local bone yard is heading your way.
