Default 95 dodge intrepid guages stopped working!

everything was working fine this morning when i parked it but when i got back in it to go home none of the guages were working and the parking brake light was on. naturally, i pushed in on the brake and then pushed in again to disengage it, but nothing happened. the car ran fine on the way home. when i got home i unhooked and rehooked the battery to try and reset it and thatdidn't work so i tried again to disengage the parking brake thinking maybe it was hung up or something and i heard a click under the hood and the parking brake light flickered and now the brake will no longer engage! also, i noticed the running lights are staying on and the overhead display showing the mileage, dte, mpg, etc isn't working either. help!

The parking brake is a physical cable connection and should not be affected by lights etc. Now if you mean the brake was engaged, but the light did not correctly reflect the parking brake condition, that's different.

Which gauges are affected? Is the spedo working etc? Most interior lights and gauges are controlled by the BCM. It sounds like this may be you problem. Do you have an engine light? Are there any codes in memory? (via either key trick and/or a free scan at an auto parts store)

Please clarifiy....

Also check your fuses(drivers side on the left side of dash with the door open) If you find a blown one and replace it, and it blows again, you have a wire touching somewhere and its causing it to blow. This can also ruin your bcm. So check before you add the new or used bcm.
