Default Solenoid Pack

I know that it is located inside of the transmission, but where is the connector that the wire connects to on the outside of the transmission?

On top of the trans toward the passenger side. You don't need to take the connector off to replace the pack. It will come apart when you remove the valvebody.

I will look for it. If I do have to replace it, do I have to take the pan off?

You have to take the pan down amd drop the valve body. It's mounted on top of the valve body

Someone told me at the auto parts store that it was mounted on top of the transmission.
