Default 1993 Dodge Intrepid Es Steering Rack Bushing Replacement

Would anyone know if you can purchase replacement steering rack bushings for a first gen 1993 Dodge Intrepid es rack? Not sure if you can find them or not, or if I'm stuck having to buy the rebuilt Steering Rack and install it cause that's the only option. I found some articles saying that I can just remove the two clamp bolts on either side of the rack and replace the bushings...haven't been able to find any auto parts place that carries the 93-95 bushings...only the 96-99 are available.

If they are available is there step by step instructions out there for replacing the Rack Bushings (does anyone know what they look like also)? My Haynes book doesn't even talk about the rack bushings.

Thanks.

The factory service manual offers step-by-step instructions. However are you talking about the bushings rack to body or bushings rack to tie-rods? bushings rack to inner tie rod are redily available or just buy the inner tie rod (easier to find them)

I've replaced the inner tie rod bushings, however I am still having play when driving and the steering is also making a crunching noise everytime I turn it to the left, near the firewall...there is play in the rack itself (left to right)...especially on cold days. I was told that the problem lies with the steering rack bushing located in the body clamps (bushing to body). I haven't been able to find a supplier that actually carries these replacement bushings.

Thanks.

Got mine from NAPA, but for a 2002 Intrepid.

I was told that you could buy them. I would make sure that they are tight first. Hope that doesn't offend you. Just felt better saying it just in case you aren't that experienced. I needed them before, but gave up looking for them. I usually don't do that. I know that you can find them...it just may take some homework. Someone always sells it. Napa usually has my hard to find parts. They sometimes sell them in single packages instead of a whole kit like other stores for some parts. I wonder if I can get paid for this. Sounds like I'm making a commercial

Thanks everyone...I actually found them via my local Dodge Dealerships Parts Store...cost me $12.00 Canadian for each one and took less than 20 min to replace each one of them. The drivers side was basically shredded and was beyond tightening...steering is great now However you have to be careful because the 95-99 models require the entire steering rack to be replaced??? but the 93' is a simple fix.
