Anyone know what the engine code 1494 is for. A friend just bought the Intrepid and the Check Engine light came in. Garage said it would be $80 dollars to hook it up to the computer to check it out. Told him to forget that, go buy a code reader for $60 at Checker. Took it back to the dealer, they read the code for free. A machanic friend of mine said the 1400's are for emissions? And some times if the gas cap doesn't get a good seal will set a code off? The check engine light went off for 2 days after the check and is back on again. Anyone with any info what 1494 is?

 

This is what the code comes up at: (This my not be the same code..its for a 2001 PT Cruiser)
1494 Leak Detection Pump (LDP) pressure switch problem - electrical or the pump itself

Thanks bassboy. That is what it was, the same code is also good for many other dodge makes and years not just the P/T/. Had another mechanic friend check it out.
