94 Dodge Intrepid's ignition key gets stuck intermittently. Can turn engine on & off OK, but sometimes I just can't get the key out. When I can't, the oil light stays on & it runs the battery down overnight. Anyone have a solution?
Have you tried a freshly cut key? When my key edges get worn and rounded it doesn't want to turn the ignition cylinder correctly. Only other thing is that the ignition cylinder itself is bad.
Have not tried a freshly cut key, but have the same problem with my wife's key. She rarely used the key so I don't think the key is the issue. Anything else?
Hmm, i guess the next thing to try is to get a different ignition switch and put your lock cylinder in it. It sounds like the rotating mechanism in the switch may be bad.(It's a fairly common issue.)
