ok so i got my 3.3 trep sittin on jacks waitin for me to tear into it. its going to need a new engine, and possibly a new tranny. i've been thinkin since im going threw all that wrenchin around, would it be worth it to swap in a bigger motor? cuz the 3.3 just plain sucked, way to big of car for such a wimpy lil motor! i want more power. the 3.5's are nice, but i know the big body could handle a lot more, theres even a few v8/rwd conversions out there! but its going to have to be my daily driver/family truckster, and with gas prices were they are now, no v8 for me. so i was doin a lil reading up on the 3.3 on wikipedia and i found that the 3.8 is somewhat the same damn thing as a 3.3. so, is it possible? worth the work/labor? something i could do myself in my garage? any expert advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

 

you'll find the 3.8 has a touch better torque but doesn't even come close to the power of a 3.5
