Fuel pump wont work.
Ok I have searched the net for days, and finally joined here to try and get some answers.
Here is what happened:
For the last few weeks, I have had issues with the key ignition of my car. I had to insert it just right or it wouldn't even turn to start. Figured it was the tumblers. Well on Thursday (10/6/11) my wife drove it to work and the key turned easy like nothing was ever wrong with it. After an 8 hour shift the car wouldn't start. Had to have it towed home, tow guy said it might be the pump. I checked the pump and sure enough no sounds, so I pulled the access panel and started checking power. I found it had 12v. Went on got anew pump installed it, still no pump sounds, then I realized I was testing the full level sender voltage instead of the pump power supply.
I then checked all relays, relays are all good. All fuses are good. There are no codes because my check engine light does not come on even when I turn the key to run.
Should I be looking at Cam / Crank sensor, or is this more than likely a PCM issue.

This is a voluntary forum, please have a little patience when it comes to asking for help.
If you suspect a Fuel issue, Simply get a bottle of brake cleaner or starting fluid, spray it into the intake duct while ur friend/wife crank the engine with throttle half way open. It it starts with starting fluid, then the problem is fuel.
Other wise, you will have to check for spark. If no spark is found, look for Check Engine Light codes. And if you have No fuel and no spark, and no code, look into the ASD relay and fuse.
More importantly, What yr and model intrepid are you driving? and wat engine size?

Also there are a few codes that w/n trip the light and will not make the car start. So the key turn trick three times to run ( not start where the engine turns...just onea stop prior ). Count the fast and slow flash and report back.
The check engine light doesnt come on even for the light test when you first turn the car on, so there is no way for me to pull codes.
As for patience sorry I am use to a board where more people comment than one in 24 hours. Again sorry but I am in a jam and need the help ASAP.
I think my issue might be in the Ignition, I have a switch here so I am going to make a by pass and go from the battery to the fuse location and test it. If the pump comes on then I am sure its the ignition.
I had key issues for like a month then all of a sudden pow the key works fine and now the pump doesnt.

Already tried this and the light never came on which is telling me its not getting power some where.

Yea, it sounds like a key power issue. If the cel (aka the MIL)isn't coming on , either no power, burned out lamp or bad pcm. The pcm controls the ASD relay which in turn controls the fuel pump and the spark. BTW are you getting a spark?
Also most mid line scan tools can ck the MIL function. Additionaly, if you put a code reader on it and turn the key, this can aid in the idea that the PCM isn't gating power if the reader on ant interface with the PCM.
Not able to check spark right now home alone.... but the lamp is good I checked it yesterday. all fuses are good now, had a bad 20 under the hood but swapped it out for A/C control right now.
I am going to go get an ignition switch and try that.
