Air Conditioner Problem
Hey All,
Have a problem with the air conditioner in the 95 intrepid. Here is the story about 1 year ago hit something on the road and broke off 2 blades of the low speed fan sent on through the radiator and killed it. Replaced radiator 225.00 bucks but didn't have the money to do the fan. New one at dealer is 450.00. Parts store was 250.00 and E-bay was 149.00. Finally just replaced the blade for 65.00 bucks. Now the problem, Air works great when it is cold out like in the morning or late evening. Works great on the freeway too. Driving around town air does not get cold. Both fans come on compressor clutch comes on. Everything is okay. Why won't it get cold in traffic or just when it get warmer or hot. One guy suggested to me that it is the condenser, and that it may be clogged from not being ran for awhile. Any suggestions will help.
Thanks Bryan

That's possible. One piece of preventative maintenance for an auto a/c unit is to run it every few weeks for 10 minutes or so, no matter what the weather or temp is. The gas inside the a/c contains a lube compound to keep everything free and flowing....[sm=smiley5.gif]
