95 Trep A/C
I have a '95 Trep, 3.5L, around 160,000 miles on it.
I bought it when it had 107,000 miles. The A/C was working,
but it wasn't as cold as other cars. I drove the car for a couple
hundred miles, and after about a week, the A/C
started smoking out the pressure relief valve. Tried to refill
it with refrigerant, pressure was fine, but it just wasn't
getting cold at all (not smoking anymore). I didn't pursue the
problem any further since fall came up. A month ago,
I took it to servicing, they vacuumed it, refilled it, and it worked
fine for about a month, when it did the smoking thing again.
Went back to them, did the same vacuuming routine, and when
re-filling it, it smoked and the guy told me it was a
bad compressor. I don't think it's the compressor, because if it
would be, it wouldn't build pressure at all, right?
Also, right now, when the compressor is on, the duct that's
supposed to be really cold, is not, and the AC radiator is
hot to the point where you can't touch it. Also, after that problem,
the high speed fan doesn't come on when I turn
the AC on. What could cause my system to act like this?
Thanks in advance, Paul
