Default Car w/n shift & speedomeeter inop

I have a 97 Intrepid ES (3.5) and today out of the blue, the speedometer and odometer are not working. More importantly, the car is stuck in second gear. I have the auto stick and I can't shift it that way either. The engine codes are 700, 731, and now 732 (this one just came on). One more item to note, every time I turn the engine off, I can then start the engine and as long as I don't more the car foward, the auto shift will shift from 1-3. As soon as the car hits aprox 5 MPH foward direction, (I am guessing at the speed as the speedometer is inop) there is a shudder/thump and then the car is stuck in 2nd (some "limp home mode"?). I can come to a full stop and no more thump/shudder occurrences until I cycle the key again. I am hoping there is a cheep elect. speed sensor or something like that and its not the Trans control module (or worse)! Has anyone seen this before or have any troubleshooting suggestions?

Thanks anaway. I figured it out buy myself. Why Dodge needs a different manual for the transmismission is beyond me, oh well. Now its fixed, thanks anyway!
