Default RE: noob questions on mods

The CAI does make noticeable changes. I used to have a 3.3L in my maroon monster with true CAI (cone filter, and a small filter for each TB outlet.)
That and with Platinum +4, high mileage oil with one quart High RPM, Peak coolant, all that led to the car's mileage getting 27-32/gallon. It was rare, but she got as high as 35 to the gallon. Plus, the hollow hiss that goes with the stainless pipe is very aggressive, and the car does have more pep. Forget the "make your own custom CAI kit" because that's a bunch of BS on a stick. As noted before, you will notice a change.

3.3L 5-speed and 3.5L 4-speed are the only engines available for the first generations.

There are TB spacers, TransGo shift kits for the 3.3, swap a 3.3 transmission for a 2.7L rebuilt/performance transmission. To follow up on the 3.3/2.7 tranny swap, go to http://www.dodgeintrepid.net/ Go to the First Generation forums, you will hit the jackpot.

EDIT :
Manual Intrepids don't exist.
