Default Stalling

Hi, I hope someone can help. My 94 Intrepid ES with the 3.3 is stalling when I slow down. It is especially frustrating when turning or needing to stop in a hurry! It will fire back up when I put it in Neutral an turn the key. I do not get a check engine light, though sometimes the "cruise" light does come on (I haven't used the cruise control in years!). Because of no light, I don't want to take the car to a dealer (can you say "Blank Check?"). It seems to accelerate fine and run smooth in traffic. It'll idle forever too, until I move the car and try to stop. Then it will die. Oh, yeah, the light works, it turns on when the key is first turned on before ignition. I've changed the fuel filter, the plugs and the wires. I get a good spark when I pull each wire from the plug. I runs the same whether a wire is pulled or not. It does idle a little rough. The car has 130 some thousand miles on it. Any ideas? Thanks.

Default RE: Stalling

It may be a sign that your fuel pump is going bad (they tend to act up sometimes before going completely bad). A cheap fuel pressure tester at the auo parts store can help answer this (about $15). You may have a vacume leak (or leak from the intake manifold) Easy to check for a vacume leak with a hand held vac pump (about $20) and intake gasket with a can of eather (be careful where you spray!). It wouldn't hurt to check your compression. It can also be a MAP sensor getting stuck (see the post "code 43" in this 2nd gen fourm). Let me know if you find anything.
