bobble noise in rear of car
the other day i was driving my car and i started to hear a bobble noise in the back of the car. my first reaction was that the struts in the back were gone. it sounded like a metal ball inside of a plastic bottle that is tipped upside down. this noise is made every time i go over a bump. i dont think my struts are gone because when i push down on the back of my car it comes right back up and does not seem like i need new struts. what should i check next? what else on the back of my car would make that noise every time i go over a bump?
I have the same thing in my car, and I checked everything. I thought it could be the struts, the spare tire, the gas flap, anything. Eventually I found that the styrofoam inside the rear bumper is bouncing around. I guess there are plastic clips that go into the styrofoam, and after 10 years the holes are worn, and the stuff just bounces around. Hope this helps. I never took the bumper cover off to try to fix. I just decided to live with it.
