I am new to the Dodge Neon. I have a 98 and I need some help with 2 problems.

1. The power moon roof. When I push any of the buttons for the power moon roof It will raise just about a Inch and then It will stop and make some noise. If I push the buttons again It will close. I can not seem to get It to open It sounds like It Is getting stuck so how do I take It apart and what should I be looking for??

2. I have owned this car for just over a month now and just the other day for no reason at all the Air Bag light came on and has not went back off. I searched Dodge forums and and all I could really find was check the fuses. I did. What could be the problem? Is there anything I can do to fix It? I do know my way around a car somewhat so I just need to know what I should be looking for that would cause the problem and how to fix It..

 

i say that the problem with your sunroof is that it needs a new motor.....mine had the same problem and a new motor fixed it....but, sumone will chime in here and say it isnt the motor...so, good luck

 

Well I am thinking the motor does work because It does raise the moonroof a little but then It gets stuck..

 

a common problem with the 1st gen neons is that the main gear in the sunroof motor strips some of the teeth....which makes the glass move a bit and then stop
