Default Oil Pan

How difficult is it to change an oil pan on a 1998 neon, leaks from the drain plug, pan threads are stripped, new pan should be here this week. What are the steps in changing a pan? What do the bolts need to be torqued at? Thanks

the gasket should be really easy to change just make sure you clean the old gastet off good and to help they have a gasket spray that is sticky so it dont move i dont remember the name of it. i am not sure of the torq but i would say no more then 25 fp but check a manual first before you do anything for a better idea of what to do

you have to remove the front motor mount bracket and if your car is equiped with the plate under the motor that mounts to the bottom of the oil pan then to the tranny, then that needs to come off too
otherwise thats basically it

Hiding that one freaking bolt behind the motor mount is just ridiculous.

oh i know....then its just stupid how 3 of the mount bracket bolts are ontop and the other 2 are on the bottom of the bracket....
oh and to make it easier you will have to remove the radiator fans to get to 3 of the bolts[&:]
