Default Swimming pool in my trunk

Ok, so I have my 96 Neon...that seems to have a water leak...

The area with the spare tire is constantly filled with water and no signs as to where it comes from. Not from driving, considering that for the past few months the car has just sat due to the lack of a functioning transmission. Trunk seal appears to be fine, and the rest of my trunk is completely dry. It has had me baffled since I bought the car around a year ago. Any ideas or concepts as to where the water is coming from and/or how to fix it would be much appreciated...

Please help me...
