Is it ECU or PCM ?

And where would I find a turbo. (other than eBay)
I noticed most turbos are built to fit a Mishibishi motor.
So can I go to the junk yard and find a turbo on a car?
What car's could I look for a turbo on ?

Either or...it doesn't matter.

Hahn Racecraft makes a kit for the neons. Check at www.modernperformance.com or you can do the SRT-4 turbo setup. Look for spudsteriers post about his setup.

You could use any turbo (as long as it fits) but you would have to get a manifold built to bolt up to your head. It's more than just putting on a turbo and going though. You need an intercooler, piping, oil feed and return lines, a return fuel line, bigger fuel pump, MAP clamp, bigger injectors, RRFPR and a bunch of other things.

Sadly I have most of the old mags that featured the 1g. I even had a slow sohc at the time..
they used good suspension pieces, but crappy engine upgrades. a warm air aem intake? are they retarded? why bother adjusting the cam gear with a crappy 99 stock cam? they could at least put a 95 cam and a dremmeled 95 aluminum intake manifold on it.
best mod was the Moroso oil pan.

I autocrossed that car too many times to count. It was still slow. I had a 75 shot on it for a while, then sold it.

all that money for only 17 HP, I guess Turbo is the only way to go[&:]
I was thinking the same thing while reading that article... But the suspension mods were freaking tasty! That lower brace and oilpan have been put on my must have list I think.

NIIICE swap Aerorat! My brother has a '99 2door that he's dying to mod - I think you have him shopping for an SRT powertrain now after seeing your setup. I bought my 2005 as a commuter car - can't argue too much with 33mpg per tank.
