im rebuilding a SOHC and have found a local shop who will port and polish my head. what i want to kmnow is if any of you have had this done and is it worth spending the money to have done?

porting and polishing as long as its done right (not a hack job) is a great mod for a single cam engine............ especially on the exhaust side.

I'd rather have them use a machine to port and polish the engine. Some places do it by hand which wouldn't be my first choice. How much do they want to charge?

i called and the person i talked to said it depended on how much i want to spend, if i want to spend 200 they will do 200$ worth or work, 300, 300 in work etc...i have to drive out and talk to a machinist to see what i can do though. im gonna go out on monday and see what they tell me.

took me about 10 hours with my dremel to do the intake and the head

thenits not a professional job then i promise. i take 15+ hours on averagewith a die grinder on just a head.

the head isnt completely done yet, but im through with the intake
