I am going to paint my neon, but I need some info on primer. When you buy primer does it matter what kind of thinner you use? Is lacquer thinner or paint thinner any different? This is my first time painting a car. Is there primer I can get at lowes for autos? I am getting the duplicolor paint shop paint, but I was going to try and find cheaper primer. So I can thin it, and get more paint for less. Please give me any info on this subject. Thanks alot

 

personally, speaking from someone that just painted my own neon, goto a auto paint store, the smaller the better, they are helpfull in many ways. i didnt know anything about painting a car, and when i walked out of there, i was in the project 300 bucks for everything i needed, from the sand paper, to the paint. they will be your best advise on what to use, and tips, ect ect.
