Default starting and brake squeal

my 1999 dodge neon wont start right away sometimes, allmost a 100,000 on it. it will start after a few times, it just started doing this. battery is good and fuel is in it. could it be a fuel filter or pump? just does it when starting sometimes. no problems on road so far such as skipping, etc, just installed new plugs and air filter. also my rear brakes squeal all the time. linings look great. i can remove wheels and blow dust and clean and they work for a day or two. ty

Did you have the battery tested? It may be slowly dying on you.

The brake squeal can be solved by putting a higher quality pad or shoe on there. If you buy the cheapest ones, expect brake squeal to be common.

Well I can't say for sure over the internet, but that would be my first thing to have checked. Also check all your battery connections to make sure they are tight and free or corrosion.

How long have you had the brakes on there? Might be time to change those as well.
