My son bought a 96 plym neon, we thought he was getting a good deal, we drove away and got several miles down the road and the car just dies. We call the guy we bought it from and he stated that it had been doing that for awhile. let car sit then was able to restart then drive a fewmiles then it would die. codes showed pcm,radiator fan relay, and several others. We replaced pcm and other things but it still does it, someone suggests that maybe the fuel pump what does anyone think?

 

Fuel pump is probably overheating and shutting down. It will usually do this with less than half a tank of gas in there.

 

should I replace it? or just keep it above half a tank. lol
