i am about to have my 2.4 head matched ported polished ,are you able to shave that head and if so what is the max?also with all that done what kind of hp gains can i expect and at what range will they be at?

 

dont quote me on this, but i heard to never shave off more then .020 off a head, and I heard that the gains are very minimal, and that they are in the upper rpms.

 

when you bore it to .02 over you are probably putting bigger pistons and better rods

i haven't heard that the gains were minimal
but then again i haven't really heard that much about it other than when people are turboing their car
or building a pretty crazy n/a motor

 

FYI, the 2.4 head is the same as the 2.0 head.
