Default bad night...

so it's 11 30 and i hear a car outside my window
i see a car parked next to mine in the middle of the street

i go downstairs and look out of the window and see a guy in my car
so i open the light and open the door and he sees me
takes my stereo
jumps in the car
and the driver drives off

called the cops and they meraculously came..not kidding..2 minutes later

so they have the prints and hopefully they catch the guys and i can get my stereo or atleast the money back [>:]

is there anyway to stop people from breaking in through the window?
pulling it back...
and what alarm system to you guys prefer?

can you fit the stock 2nd gen cd players in the 1st gens?
i was looking at the screw pattern and it doesnt look the same but i'm not expert...

i guess tomorrow i'll installing the stock stereo since the better stereo in my bug doesnt have the spacer for the neon

i have a viper alarm on the r/t....wors good so far

did they break the window, or did you leave the door unlocked????

ive had 2 systems stolen.....
1 was a sony cd player, 2 sony amps, and 2 orion extreme 12's.......$1100
the 2nd was a pioneer 9300 head unit ($800), audiobahn amp, audiobahn sub, and a vr3 cap......$1300
ironically enough, they took the cheap systems ive had, but no one ever touched the $8000 system i had in my blue r/t

pulling it back..
Thats one of the drawbacks of frameless windows, road noise being another.

One with a loud siren to get attention. Make sure it has bump sensors or whatever they are called.

They can fit, but you have to shave off 2 of the mounting holes. I have one right now just sitting in my trunk.

That sucks man...One thing you can do to slow a thief down is install a metal bar behind the deck so that when they try to pull it out, they got 1 thick piece of metal to deal with also.Im talking of one that screws to the backside of deck, and the other end to the frame of car back there.

If they got prints, then I would be calling and bugging them to see if they found a match for the prints. Also, IF you coulda got a license plate number, that woulda REALLY helped.I woulda jumped in my neon, and chased their ***'s down, at least got a plate # .....but I also live in the country, where it would be much easier to follow someone.

Im also wondering what spacer your saying you need to install other deck in neon? Anyways..good luck, hope they catch them..

Most aftermarket decks need the mounting spacer as they are thinner than the stock deck.

I'll take a pic later if I can of it. You leave the mounting tab on the upper right side and the lower left side. Mine just has the one upper tap and it sits in there fine.
