My girlfriend is currently looking to buy a 1998 neon sport. What kind of problems if any can i expect from this year neon? The car has 112,000km or about 68,000miles on it, and it's an auto. The cost is $3999CAN from a dealer.

The timing belt, water pump and idler pulley should all be changed every 100,000 miles so keep that cost in mind when purchasing the vehicle.

 

Great! Thanks. Are there any common problems?I have a 95 corolla and (it was givin to me) I am now stuck doing the valve seals because they start failing at around 100,000 miles. Can I expect anything like that?

 

Kinda hard to say because it depends alot on the previous driver.

 

Seems kind of expensive, but you are buying it from a dealer. I'd never make that mistake again.
