were the cd Player hooks up what it the orange wire originally intended for i just Hooked it up to my ACC so my Dash Lights Turn On When the Car does

anyone now why it was orignally there when it was stock????

 

My guess is an illumination wire...so the deck will go dim or bright along with your other dash lights.

 

I didn't bother to even hook up that wire.. but i read that it was for the dimming features in the stock crap radio.

 

if you look closer it makes your parking lights turn on too, you dont need it on there.
like was already said its for dimming the stock radio when the lights are turned on.
be sure to tape it up, it has power when you turn on your lights.

 

actually i have a question about the interrior lights...

after my stereo got stolen and i put in the stock stereo half of my lights are dim on the center consol
the lights i'm talking about are the four for the a/c
the two on the right side barely light up at night when i turn all the lights on
anyone know why?
could i have blown a fuse or something?

 

ok but its the only way i can get my dash lights to turn on is if i have that hooked to my Acc
they just stopped working one day so i just hooked it up to that till i get the time to figure it out
