hmmm it broke.
well i think i know why my Neon has been running like total crap lately. yesterday it was really really acting up so i went to check the spark plugs...and when i just barely grabed the number 1 spark plug, the rod inside looks like it rusted out and broke...and its still connected to the spark plug and i cant get anything small enough down there to grab it. any ideas on what to do? and magnets didn't work either.
on the plus side though, when i was pissed off at it i got out and manually revved the motor for like 15 seconds and i could hear it hitting the rev limiter...and it still didn't want to blow. and at that point in time i just wanted it to blow. but it didn't. now what type of car with 246,000 miles on it, hitting the rev limiter for like 15 seconds, not blow the motor?

Try one of these flexible grabbing tools. i use to pull out my plugs and to set them back in so they don't drop down onto the cylinder. I think I got mine from the cheapo Napa tool bin or maybe from a doller store.
grab the car and flip it over and give it a few shakes.
if that dont work grab a shop vac and attach a small rubber hose on the end and see if you can get it out that way

the rod thats in the spark plug WIRE. it broke and stayed connected to the spark plug tip. i finally got it out though, i found a small piece of rubber hose that fit and got it out that way. then swapped a wire from my 97 Neon to my 95 and now she runs like a charm again...for the most part.
