well today i finally got the Plastic Gear Looking Thing From the Dealership and i hooked up the new speed sensor and i still have no speedometer if i spin the sensor when its not in the tranny the speedometer goes up but then i put it back into the tranny and nothing happens could this problem but the other gear thats suppose to be in the tranny that spins the speed sensor??

becuz im at a loss i was so excited that i was finaly goiing to get a speedometer and its not working still after spending the 36 dollars which might not sound like much but it is to me right now cuz im real low on money but it was worth it so i could stop getting speeding tickets.

but it still doesnt work

could be the gear that drives it. when you took it out though, did u try holding it down and then spinning it? sounds stupid but i know of several things that work when their upside down, but not when their rightside up the way their supposed to be.

i went ona 100 mile tip today and the Tripometer in the little white number moved half way between the 0 and the 1 which i think that is like .01 of a mile cuz i think it goes up to 9 then a 1 goes into the black numbers

this is really depressing i really really wanted a speedometer

does 0-60 in 5 seconds which to me thats pretty quick
he was saying hes doesnt like the neon and that america should stick with american muslce cars and he says "ricers" are cars that are just going for the look and not "Tuners" which makes since to me

cuz we got a neon thats completely stock in out town but its got a body kit and a wing on it im pretty sure its an R/T though so its pretty cool

 

even if i did try that how would i fix that ?? because that would be the way its made

idk (it was just the first thing that came to mind lol), just make sure the wheel is on there nice and tight. does your tach work? and have u tried to resolder your pins on your cluster?

 

What does this kid have under his hood? Unless he's put a lot into it such as a turbo, there is no way it stock 0-60's in 5 seconds lol. Also stock the best model civic of that year has 125 horse and 106 torque where as the best model 1st gen neon had 150 horse and 133 torque and the neon only weighs less than 100lbs more than the civic.

The kid could have performance mods under the hood such as the Iceman, Mopar PCM, Headers, and the Dynomax cat-back which to the average person looks stock.

 

take A LOT more than just a turbo...

 

no the neon in my town is bone stock not evena ricer muffler tip still has stock everything. (except of course the body kit)
i know the kid hes my friend i want to race him cuz he has the DOHC and im a SOHC

and about the Civic
the 0-60 is just what he said and hes not a kid hes about 30 its sounded unreasonable but the 93 civic is tiny and hes got about 140 Hp i dont know if thats to the tires or just the crank shaft or watever it is im sure its the crank shaft.. but hes put alot of money into it
