1995 Dodge Neon Radio Troubles
I have a 1995 Dodge Neon with stereo speaker problems.
The radio turns on but there is no sound to it. It has am-fm-cassette. The cassette player works fine.
All the wiring is intact in the 2 connectors that go to the radio. All the speakers are connected. Everything is stock with no aftermarket anything.
Is there somewhere else I need to look for wiring problems with the speakers?
Thank in advance for your help.

yes. I have the black and gray connectors. The clip on connector. And the plug (looks like an old head phone type plug)with black cable on the the back of the radio.
The radio shows the FM Stereo signal coming in, but I do not have any sort of sound with the radio or cassette player.
I am at wits end right now. It's my 16 yr old's car, so you know she needs her radio.
Thanks for your reply.

checked the fuses on the side of the dash and under the hood. there is 1 fuse in each spot. that's how I found out about the radio (it didn't work at first and found out it was a blown fuse under the hood).
Is there any other spot I should look for a fuse?
Thanks again.

speakers could just be blown. my Neon it lost its rear speakers...and then its front...and then radio. so i would just maybe buy some cheapy speakers and see if it fixes them. Walmart has/did some cheap $20 Durabrand rear speakers (6x9) and their pretty good for the price, and brand. plus their a lot easier to replace than the front speakers.
Thanks for the suggestion. It's definitely not that either. I tried another pair from my neighbor and they didn't work either.
This is putting me at wits end.

On the fuses, is it just the 2 of them? One on the side of the dash and the one under the hood? And the radio lights up and shows the stations and time. I took it apart and nothing is loose or disconnected inside of it.

if its not the speakers and your fuses are good. then it does sound like a bad radio. if u go on ebay, you can find OEM replacement (used) pretty cheap. or someone round here might have some for sale. if u decide to buy another one.
