Im stupid, your not, so you help me make the right decision with estimates, if youve had a body kit
Hmmmmmmm......after a long dispute with drugs, and a few years in prison, now with over 2.5 years sober, I have money again!
Now since I actually work hard for my money, I don't want to waste it, can you relate, good. I am about to purchase full-body kit (not wide body),
Well, I want to stay local with the work being done, in fact Im a sucker helping out the local small business owners, nevertheless, I dont want to be
totally billed unneccesary costs. WHAT IS WAS THE COST OF YOUR COMPLETE INSTALLATION FOR FULL BODY KITS, its o.k. if you
don't have reciepts, but just the estimate to your recollection. This is for 1st gen. neon. In addition, if you had yours painted to the stock color of your
car, what was the price of that. TRUST me I relize these prices vary, but tell me anyway, k. thankyou, and please no smart a** comments, I had enough of
that nonsense in the penitentiary...Happy Motor'n.....Speed

first off, congrats on being sober for so long! now then, i dont have a body kit, but i have heard of them ranging from 100-300 for installing. painting i have no clue. Protivakid might be able to tell you better with the painting cause his body kit matches his car. and btw, welcome.
First of neoncrazy thanks for recommending me, it seems I am one of the few with a painted kit lol.
The install was easy man. Me and my buddy did it myself. Most kits come w/o pre-drilled holes so all you do is measure the stock bumper's screw holes that hold it on and use a drill to make your own holes though it is fiberglass so be gentle. You could have the whole thing custom molded onto your car but I just bolted mine up and connected it as you would a stock bumper. I guess someone could do all the work for you though this was my first time ever putting one on but it seemed easy and didn’t come out half bad. I don’t have skirts though so I can't tell you how those mount but I am guessing it’s also very easy.
As for painting, it depends on quality. You could go to Macco and get the whole kit painted at the middle grade paint for probably $300-$400 or go to a professional place and pay maybe $600? I knew the guy who did mine so I got a discount; don't know what the regular charge is. If you do go the Macco rout, you probably will want to go with whatever job applies at least two layers of paint because fiberglass will shift some when you drive and a single layer of paint will crack and chip away. Also every Macco is different. I have heard horror stories from some Macco's about the paint having a rigid texture or the overall job being bad yet others such as New Bedford, MA are great and my buddy’s car looks really good for a $600 paint job.
Sorry for the essay lol but I have two last recommendations. If possible try to find the body kit parts that are molded with both fiberglass and plastic that way you can bend them and it won’t shatter, like hitting a rock with a pure fiberglass kit. Also another good idea would be (if you were going with a cheaper paint job) to get a white paint job for your whole car that way if the paint chips or cracks a little on the fiberglass parts, it wont show lol, just a suggestion though. I don't know if you are going for show car or what.
But any who hope this helps in some way, any more questions can be directed my way.

well i was going to get my back Spiderbody kit bumper put on and for them to put it on and hide the seems it was going to be $300 and for them to paint it, it would have brought it up to $500 and that was just for the back bumper[:'(]
but the guy who did all the body work on my car is going to help me put it on for free except for the price of the fiberglass and bondo
Im so happy [sm=bounceybounce.gif]

Welcome first off! So one of my buddies here in the area has a cavy and he had his body kit, along with prof. paint job (prepping, primer, paint, clear..bla bla..) done at the local chevy dealership and it cost him just about $2000 and his car looks sweet. That included the installation of the body kit too. I have never checked iwth the Dodge dealership, but who knows maybe they install them there too. Hopefully its not just a chevy dealership thing haha
