Failing AC in Summer
I bought a Neon (of course), whose AC hasn't worked since the last owner. I recently bought refrigerant and re-charged it. However, when I turn on the AC, I get a gust of semi-cool air that quickly deadens into a rush of sub-Suharan billows. I re-checked the refrigerant amount - it was full. I turned on the AC again and stood in front of the engine, listening. I heard the AC fan click on, felt a rush of desert air for about four seconds, then heard it click off again. This repeated for as long as I kept the AC on. I later googled and found something maybe the culprit being a faulty pressure switch.
Is this true? If so, where can I buy one and can I save $$ by installing it myself? Any AC gurus out there?

If you did what I did, which sounds like you possibly did because I had the same exact problem. I used some off the shelf can of coolant with a gauge on it and started my car and ac then put some in and the gauge read full and I kept hearing it click on and off and wasn't getting cold air. I was thinking oh damn it's the compressor, guess I am screwed. Then I talked to my buddy who does work on hvac stuff and he told me to put more in, I noticed the gauge would go up and down when it was clicking off and on, so I did and what do you know it works and no more clicking. He said it had something to do with the low pressure making the compressor go off and on.
