Default my new baby is alive!

well she runs like a charm. only problem is a slight overheating problem i think. within 10 min. her valve cover got WAY to hot. i just changed her head gasket and yes i did put fluid in the radiator. it took the fans about 15 min. to turn on and it didn't do squat. what do u think it could be? i know i put the head gasket on right. but could there be something

how hot is way too hot, did you look at a gauge?
engine usuallyrun hot enough to burn you and 10-15 minutes is normally the time it takes to heat it up to 225 for the fans to come on.

Yeah, generally you shouldn't judge your engines temperature by the valve cover. I appologise if thats not what you mean't.

Like Racer said, everything you've said sounds quite normal.
