Default Help with a friends neon

Ok...Went down to my best-friend's sister's for her b-day and her parents asked me to look at her Neon. I've never really messed with Neons before, so I didn't want to get too in depth with it. But...the problem is this. It's a 2.0L 16V engine. It is very hard to start the car. And when it does start it idles horribly. So I thought that maybe it was a bad plug or wire. But with the car running and pulling each plug wire off one at a time proved that idea wrong. So I decided to take it for a drive around the parking lot and it died on me twice. I'm not really sure what else it might be. Any help would be awesome!!! Thanks!!!

hmmm...maybe the coil is going bad...or the fuelfilter isa bit dirty andreducing the fuel it needsand might need to be replaced.....
could even be a bad map sensor or 02 sensor..
there are honestly so many different things on these cars that can cause it
if you get a chance at some point, try and check if it is throwing any codes....that might tell you right there

Yes, check the codes. To do this, you must start with the key in the off position, then turn it to the on position (but NOT start position), then off, then on, then off, then on again and leave it there. You will see the check engine light start to blink after a couple of seconds, and count the blinks. For example, you may have a twelve if the battery has been disconnected within the last fifty key starts, and this would be one blink, long pause, then two blinks. Then there will be a long pause between than and other codes, if any and then when the codes are done, you will get a 55. Personally, I would have to say it is a bad cam sensor or a dirty fuel filter. Check the codes and see what you get and let us know.
