to pay.. or not to pay...
okay, if u have read any of my threads in the past you probably realize by now i have a motor mount bolt that snapped off and i have seemed to try everything in my power to get it out and it will not budge... so now i am faced with the dreaded dilemma i thought i would never consider... to pay a shop to so my labor [:@] i was quoted near $90 an hour from dodge and like $60 an hour from another shop.... and the guy at the dodge dealer was a real ***** too saying "well unless you can tell me exactly how long it will take then i cant give you an estimate other than $90 an hour.." wow... they have been in the business for how many years and cant give me a rough estimate on bolt removal?? wtf anyways, should i pay it or keep sweating and tryin to dig this bolt out??? thanks every1
Yes, he tired drilling it out, but it is hardenend steel, he would never be able to drill it out. Dude, if it takes two hours to pull that thing out, just do it. Pay the shop $120 and get it over with instead of wasteing your time messing with it. Besides, then it is done and you wont have to mess with it again. I forget though, are you trying to get it out to put a new mount in or what? If you cant get it out, it obviously aint goin anywhere so you could just leave it...
ironically enough i snapped that same bolt off on the r/t the other day......the middle bolt....
but i still have the 2 side bolts so im just gonna do sum welding
but i still have the 2 side bolts so im just gonna do sum welding
spud im so sorry to hear that .... i was gonna weld but there is too big of a gap between then mount and the framei think cause my subframe that has the other two bolts got moved up a little bit during removal... i guess im gonna just bite the bullet and pay somebody... and jr. mechanic, i snapped the head of the bolt off so the motor mount assembly came out with no problem, just left me with a bigger problem in a snapped off bolt lol
