has anyone ever ran a air filter striaght off off the Throttle body?
any problems doing this?
i think i am going to do it, get rid of all the intake tubing and run it straight off the TB where the throttle body is at is as about as cool air as it gets

RE: air filter right off TB
The intake tube actually serves as a way for the air to get "straighter" and less turbulent.

i understand, it makes sense, the tube directs the air to the throttle body and is smoothed out as it gets there.
i was just thinking tho that with and air filter on top of the throttle body, there would be a lot less restriction of air flow
i might try it, i wont be out much
i'll drive it like it is for awhile and pay attention
then switch to the open element and see if the differences are noticable
thanks for all advice

it seems like the farther away from the engine youget, the colder the air, and since the throttle body isright there next to the engine it seems like it wouldbe hot air. but idk maybeenough air wouldrush in through the grill to cool it off. but ne waylet us kno how it works.
