Does the egr valve cause that much of a mpg loss?

i normally get 80 mpg per 1/4 tank and now ive only gotta lik3 120 to a half tank...

im guessing he ment he gets 80 miles per 1/4 tank

but i wish i could get 80mpg

It can cause bad idle problems and a decrease in MPG.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if one were to remove the EGR you'd gain power you lost from it not being able toheat the intake charge? Not that you gain power but you would be able to maintain the power your car came withinstead of losing it to IAT sensor hotter readings as the car warms up from circulating hot exhaust gases through the intake?. If so I will block mine off.

Blocking off the EGR doesn't give you back or add any power. It will keep you from having to clean your TB as much and keep the intake cleaner as well. You will have a CEL for the code 32 as well unless you have an aftermarket PCM.
