there is a small rectanguler felt covered guide inside the door for the glass to rub on.....after awhile if gets on the felt then it will cause the windows to scratch.....
i think all neons have this problem
tint will make the scratches easier to see and wont protect it at all

Usually the window scratches on the outside, and tint is applied inside.

I don't know how the tint would play with the scratches in the sense whether they would highlight them or not.

okay heres how to combat the scraches. take off the rubber molding when you take it to the car wash and spray the hell out of the felt pad thats in there. you dont have to do this everytime you wash but its a good idea to do it regularly. it will not scrach the tint since the pad only rubs the outside of the window. i had my windows replaced and kept the pads clean. never had a problem after that
