I just pulled the crank sensor on the neon, and is the metal piece that goes into the engine supposed to be able to turn freely? Anyone who has a working crank sensor for a 97 with flat pins give me a price.

Btw, there is a white paint mark on the sensor so I am guessing this was a junkyard piece.

 

Ya! I never thought I would be so happy to get a code 11!! I fumbled around with the crank sensor and cleaned it and pulled the codes and got nothing, then I disconnected it and cranked and got a 11, then reconnected it and still got a 11. I thought I might of just not connected it well, so I checked it and reset the pcm and I am still getting a 11! The weird thing is though that my scanner will not pick up the code, only key code. SO if anyone has a crank sensor please speak up!! 97 with flat pins
