hey every1... well i finally decided to paint the car. i chose silver just because i dont think i have ever seen a 1st gen neon silver

 

i think i liked the black better to be honest

 

i have seenlots of silver 1st gens....looks good....good work for a diy....but those gauges on the dashare just ugly[:'(]

 

gauges look ugly?!?! yea right ive gotten so many compliments on that ur crazy

 

cool car, still needs the turbo

 

how easy/hard was that. i might do this to mine. did u sand it?

 

i've also seen quite a few silver neons


usually old people are driving the silver ones




why all the gauges with a basically stock motor?

 

I like the silver, came out good for a DIY job. U forgot the hood though unless thats what you were going for... though to girls who don't know u did that on purpose it looks like you got in an accident at one time or ran outta paint. But n e who I was considering silver though I didnt wanna have to re-do under the hood and stuff so I just got it re-painted green. Also n e other 1st gen neon I see 90% of the time is an elderly person, it's not just the silver ones haha.

 

yea the black paint looks decent in my pics but you should have seen how terrible it was in person... the guy i bought it from painted it black and didnt sand the already chipped off factory paint so i sanded the car totally down smooth.... and as for all the gauges, i am going to do a dohc turbo swap this winter and want to monitor oil temp, oil pressure, air/fuel, boost, and then i have the volt gauge just for the heck of it lol thanks to every1 who said it turned out pretty good but i swear i have never seen a silver neon in the 1st gen!!! haha
